Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kigali city expedition-drive to Volcanoes National Park 2-3 hours
Have enjoyable Kigali city expedition upon early arrival at Kigali International Airport Rwanda. Visit remarkable sites like Gisozi genocide centre, Kimironko Market and later have lunch break in a hotel in Kigali. After, set off on 2-3 hours’ trip to Volcanoes National Park, Northwestern Rwanda.
Day 2: Gorilla trek in Uganda’s Bwindi National Park
Enjoyable breakfast early in the morning and after, briefing is always carried out on gorilla trekking rules before actual trek starts. During briefing, the team from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park allocates to you a habituated gorilla family to trek beginning at 8:00am and takes you from 2 to 6 hours.
When you come across a family of mountain gorillas, a maximum of 1 hour face to face with them, take pictures and learn deeply about their behaviors. Return to the lodge to enjoy your lunch and later, retire for the night.
Day 3: Batwa community walk
After breakfast, visit the Batwa community. This is to allow you interact closely with the local residents, get entertained by the Batwa pygmies who are also known to have spent over 500000 years of their time in the forest as hunters and gatherers. Have a relaxed evening and night stay in the lodge.
Day 4: Drive from Uganda to Virunga National Park – Congo
Have breakfast early morning and later, connect to D.R. Congo’s Virunga National Park to check in at your lodge. Lunch will be provided at the lodge upon arrival and retire for the night.
Day 5: Gorilla trek in D.R. Congo – Virunga National Park
After an early morning breakfast, gather at Bukima ranger post for briefing on rules to observe while on a trek to see mountain gorillas. Virunga has only 8 habituated gorilla groups and only one will be allocated to you.
You should be physically fit to make 2-6 hours’ gorilla trek which also includes 1 hour face to face encounter. In addition to mountain gorillas, there are also other primates, birds for you to sight on a gorilla trek and after, return to the lodge.
Day 6: Climb to Nyiragongo Volcano
Enjoy a hefty cup of tea and later, take 5-6 hours hike to Nyiragongo Volcano. You should be physically fit to hike but what is interesting is that you stand a chance to enjoy sight of birds, primates, flora and a lot more along the way.

Day 7: Slope down from Mount Nyiragongo-drive to the airport
After a leisurely breakfast, start sloping down to where you began your hike the previous day. Meet the drive for drop off to the airport in DRC or hotel.
