The 5 days Kahuzi Biega and Virunga national park gorilla tour is an exceptional experience to watch the lowland Gorillas in Kahuzi Biega and the Mountain Gorillas in Virunga in the same trip to Congo. All this will start from Kigali city and you will return to Kigali at the end of the trip.

Day 1: Kigali to Bukavu in eastern D.R. Congo
You will be picked by our driver on arrival at the airport or from your hotel in Kigali and be transferred to Bukavu in the DRC. There will be a lunch enroute as you drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda and the lush vegetation in this area will give a fresh breath and fresh start of your 5 days’ tour in Congo.
You will arrive in the evening hours and relax at the lodge where dinner will be served and overnight there.
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla tracking at Kahuzi Biega national park
You will start your day with a morning breakfast at your hotel and head to the park offices to join other guests for briefing before you are led into the park to watch the lowland Gorillas. You will need to move with your packed lunch since this exercise may take you much time before you return to the hotel.
You will be allowed to watch the unique character of these Gorillas for one hour and then return to meet your guide at the starting point. Head to the lodge to rest after this long activity and have dinner and overnight here.
Day 3: Transfer to Virunga National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart Kahuzi-Beiga National Park and head towards Virunga National Park. Virunga is the home to habituated mountain gorillas in the D.R. Congo attracting thousands of tourists from all over the world. You will check into the lodge on arrival and have a community visit to interact with the local people. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park offices for briefing on the guidelines by the park staff. You will meet other guests and be divided in groups to track different gorilla families as guided. You will spend one full hour with the Gorillas from the time of encounter. Congo has the most affordable gorilla tracking costs compared to Uganda and Rwanda and which also have the mountain gorillas.
You will then be return to meet your driver at the starting point and report to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and night stay there.
Day 5: Drive to Kigali city
After these busy days of many tour activities, you will wake up on this day, have breakfast as usual and embark on the journey to Kigali where you started.
You will have lunch here in the city and a nice tour to the museums in Kigali, visit the Kings palace. Drive off to the airport for your final flight.
