Game drives and launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park give you chance to see numerous wild animals and birds, which live in this wilderness. Our last activity will be trekking the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. This trip is wholly in Uganda starting and ending at Entebbe International Airport.
Safari Day by Day:
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depending on here you will be 9Your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International airport), our professional driver guide will pick you up, give you a brief introduction on the flow of the itinerary and start the trip. Drive westwards to Kibale Forest National park with a brief stop at Nakayima tree where local people perform prayers and ritual.
Thereafter after, proceeds to the beautiful fort portal the tourism capital in Uganda. Enjoy a quick drive in this new city to Tooro Kingdom, and Tooro botanical garden is a great pre chimpanzee trekking experience.
In the evening, drive to Kibale Forest, home to the endangered chimpanzees and the primate capital of Africa.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
This is the great day to meet our close relatives. Wakeup early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch drive to Kanyanchu Visitor information Centre for registration and briefing on the do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. The trek to see chimpanzees starts at 8:00am lasting for between 2 to 6 hours.
The loud laughs, hoots and shouts of chimpanzees heard from a distance notify you on where exactly these primates are. You will send an hour in the company of mans close relative who share over 99% of human genes.
The humanly behaviors of chimpanzees where adult females nurse babies like mothers in a human home is magical. Take as many pics as possible, capture videos and have fun. Besides chimpanzees, you will see various other primates in Kibale Forest National park including Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons, blue monkey, black and white colobus among others.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk to Bigodi wetland go enjoy the natural environment. Bigodi is home to many bird species and wild animals all at your disposal.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – evening game drives
Today, we are set to leave the primate capital! After hot breakfast, you can choose to have a brief guided nature walk to see t and enjoy the sweet songs of birds rising up. Check out of the lodge and start up a 4 hours dive to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Enjoy this scenic drive through beautiful fort portal and Kyambura. Reach at the lodge in the afternoon, check-in and refresh. In the evening you may go for evening game drives to see animals feeding before retiring for night rests. Queen Elizabeth national park is Uganda’s e second largest National park after Murchison falls Park. The Park is known to have a high concentration of wild animals and birds hence the best sport for game viewing in the Pearl of Africa.
Day 4: Game viewing & launch cruise
In the early morning, drive to the open savannah plains for game viewing to catch up with early risers. Gama drives through the park give you spectacular views of numerous wild animals grazing, browsing and hunting in this park.
Among the animals you will see include Buffalos, Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Elands, Topis, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Warthogs, bush pigs and Uganda kobs among others.
You can drive u to the crater lakes especially Lake Katwe were slat mining takes place and Lake Munyanyange, home for the beautiful flamingoes. You will return to the lodge for late breakfast, refresh and relax at the lodge as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a launch cruise at Kazinga channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George.
The 2 hours cruise is a great opportunity to see water animals mostly crocodiles resting lazily at the riverbank. Enjoy the cold breezes, and fresh airs while over looking game in the park and neighboring fishing villages. Look out fro birds such as egrets, ibises, African jacana, African Kingfisher, and hammerkops among others, which live on the riverbanks.
Day 5: Ishasha & transfer to Bwindi Forest
Wakeup to have a sunrise breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive to Ishasha sector south of Queen Elizabeth national park. Game drives through Ishasha give you chance to see the rare climbing lions seen resting and feasting up in the fig and acai trees.
Drive out of the park and with lunch enorute proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Driving through local farms, communities and trading centers makes the whole experience fun and enjoyable.
Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking & Batwa community tours
Wow, the great day for meeting the endangered gorillas is finally here! Today you will wakeup early, have a hot cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and drive to the respective Park headquarters.
There you will be registered by park rangers and taken through a brief pre gorilla trekking briefing (Its normally about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking).
You will also be put in a group of eight and allocated a gorilla family to trek and 2-armed rangers. At 8:00am, the trek begins. Hike up and down hill through the impenetrable forest of Bwindi in search of the gorillas. The hike is undeniably strenuous (range between 2-7hours) but worth it. After meeting the gorillas, breath in, keep calm and enjoy this magical encounter.
Observe how gorillas behave in their family, see how each family member has a responsibility and embrace their human like characters. The allowed time with gorillas is strictly an hour.
In the evening, you may visit Batwa community villages outside the park. Learn and enjoy the traditional forest life of Batwa pygmies.
Day 7: Drive back to Entebbe
Today mars the end of our seven days Uganda safari. Enjoy your morning sleep and wakeup to have a relaxed cup of coffee as you enjoy the cold weather of Kabale.
Thereafter, check out and embark on your long drive back to Kampala. Enjoy scenic views of Kigezi terraced hills, Ankole cattle farms and banana plantation farms with lunch enroute in Mbarara.
You will have a brief stop at the equator for photographs and proceed to Kampala for your connecting flight at Entebbe International Airport.
