5 Days Uganda Flying Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

The 5 days gorilla flying safari to Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best Uganda safari packages you should take up. It covers 5 days, 4 nights. It begins and ends in Kampala capital city or Entebbe Airport in Uganda.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe Airport or Kajjansi airfield to Mweya airstrip

After you have had a leisurely breakfast, connect to Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi airfield. Take a scheduled flight to Kasese or Mweya airstrip in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Relax at the lodge as you to engage in a number of safari activities the next day.

Day 2: Game drive/viewing & launch trip along Kazinga Channel

Breakfast early in the morning and later, you will have the best of wildlife encounter on a game drive. This ushers you into Kasenyi Plains one of the areas in Queen Elizabeth National Park that is endowed with a huge profusion of wildlife. In a full-size 4×4 drive car, get great sight of the Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, lions, oribis, birds, leopards among others.

Return to have lunch after 2-3 hours’ game viewing experience. At 2:00am, your next exciting safari activity will be a launch/boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This is an extensive channel and it links Lake Edward and Lake George. It is an amazing watersport to engage in if you are interested in aquatic life like hippos, water birds, crocodiles and also enjoy sight of other wildlife while on a boat.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi through Ishasha sector

Enjoy the best of your tasty cup of tea or coffee and after, drive via Ishasha Plains, the southern area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have a short game drive through Ishasha where you will view the tree climbing lions plus other wildlife. Thereafter, connect to Bwindi National Park with en-route lunch break in Savanna Resort.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Immediately after breakfast, report to Bwindi offices where you will be briefed on guidelines for mountain gorilla trekking. You will be assigned to a trained park guide from Uganda Wildlife Authority and takes you 2-6 hours to track gorillas.

This covers a maximum of 1 hour of taking photos and learning more about mountain gorillas.

Day 5: Fly back to Entebbe airport/Kajjansi airfield

After a cup of tea or coffee, drive to Kihihi/Kisoro airstrip to take a domestic flight back to Kajjansi airfield/Entebbe Airport.
